Traveling Pants, and Shorts

Today’s Reverb10 prompt comes from Tara Hunt: “How did you travel in 2010? How and/or where would you like to travel next year?”

I didn’t travel very much this year, but that’s all relative because some people rarely leave their home towns, and some travel the world non-stop. Here are the places I traveled to in 2010: Las Vegas (twice), flew into Salt Lake City Utah and drove to Park City Utah (best snowboarding spot), Mammoth Mountain (2nd best snowboarding spot), Whistler Canada (3rd best snowboarding spot), Vancouver Canada, Sedona Arizona, Phoenix Arizona, San Francisco, Berkeley California, Joshua Tree California, Bend Oregon, Sacramento California (3 times, it’s where I grew up), Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Pismo Beach, and various spots around Los Angeles and Orange County (where I live).

In 2011 I want to go overseas. I want to go back to Fiji (I lived there for 2 months, best experience of my life). I want to go to South America, Central America, Africa, and China. I would also like to visit New Zealand and Australia as well if possible. I also wnat to see more of the United States, the East Coast in particular. Wow, that’s quite an itinerary! Will it happen? I sure hope so!

What about you? Where did you go in 2010 and where would you like to travel in 2011?

Great Article! I felt I could totally relate to this article because my career revolves around the topic of “Traveling Work Pants.” I am very fortunate to have the luxury of traveling all over the United States and Canada for work and the best part is, all expenses are paid. :) However, I must say, that it is not always so glamarous. When the routine is waking up at 3am to be at LAX by 4am, travel for 3-6 hours and continue to work when I arrive, thats not exactly what I call glamorous. However I have enjoyed myself and will continue to make the most of it. My 2010 travel list in date order (Jan-Nov) is: Kettleman City CA, Sherman TX, Milwaukee WI, Santa Rosa CA, Tulsa OK, Bryan TX, Long Island NY, Springfield MO, Pasco WA, Kansas City MO, Quad Cities IL, Pittsburg PA (Top 5 Fav. Cities), Manchester NH, Boston MA (Top 5 Fav. Cities), Ontario CA, Des Moines IA, Corpos Christi, TX, Orlando FL, and Shreveport LA.

My most memorable trips are the ones I was able to take close friends and family to join me in my adventures. I’m looking forward to see what my “Traveling Work Pants” has in stored for me in 2011. :)

That’s so awesome that most of it was paid for! I guess you take the good with the bad (waking up really early and working all day). You went to a lot of cities!
