Life is a daring adventure, period.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” -Helen Keller

If you don’t know much about Helen Keller, do a quick Wikipedia search on her and read up, she’s truly an inspiration. For someone like her to grab onto life and refuse to allow her circumstances to dictate how she’s going to experience the world is absolutely amazing. To her, life was a daring adventure, and she wouldn’t accept anything less.

So where does that leave us?

Typically we’ll read or hear of people doing some really amazing things in the world, then we’ll sit and think about how we would love to “be able to” do great things too, and then we go on about our day as if it were an insignificant thought. Why do we do that? We do it because we think it’s out of reach. We do it because we’re afraid of letting go of what we have. We do it because we’re afraid of the unknown. We do it because we don’t know what we want to do with our lives.

I once read this quote that will stick with me always:

“If a man knows not what harbor he seeks, any wind is the right wind.” -Seneca

If you don’t know what you want to do with your life, that’s okay, but it’s not okay to do nothing with it. Just try something new! Venture out into the unknown and see what happens. I have a lot of friends in the blog industry who have left their home town, state, or even country (like myself) and are out in the world discovering themselves…and discovering a lot of cool stuff along the way. Life’s secrets are discovered through doing, not thinking. I’m not saying that you should uproot yourself completely, but I am saying that you should at least pull some of the roots up and plant them somewhere that causes you to be on a daring adventure through life!

If you’re in school, stay there and finish. Don’t be someone who doesn’t finish something that they start, it will haunt you (and that goes for any task, large or small). If you’re in a job you don’t like, don’t just quit, be strategic about it. Put your resume out there, go interview, and land another job before you leave your current one. If you’re just in a funk or depressed, read this, and pull yourself out, the world needs you to be happy. I want you all to be happy and to live a life you love, there’s no reason not to. It may take some time, but it will happen if you stick with it, trust me.

So what are you going to do? I want to know, seriously. Tell me in the comments below, allow yourself to be accountable. Say it with confidence and do it.
